Yates reviews progress

Mark Yates has offered an upbeat assessment of Cheltenham`s performance over the first 10 games of the season but still want to see more from his team. Having avoided relegation back in May and rebuilt heavily over the summer, Town have taken almost half of the 30 points offered so far (14) to sit 12th in League Two - exactly mid-table. They have climbed as high as fourth and dropped as low as 16th, but despite the upturn in fortunes and optimism at Whaddon Road, Yates refuses to rest on his laurels. "I think we can be relatively pleased with the way things have gone so far but, without going overboard, I always want more," he told the club`s official website. "I always want my staff and players to demand more of each other but I think we`re probably in the right position for what we have done. A couple of wins or defeats can move you about the league quite quickly so it`s important we cement our place in the top half and get as many points as we possibly can. "If we can keep picking up results and momentum then it will be a big boost to this team when key players return to the squad. We want to kick on and we have the ability to do things this season but it`s important we perform to our level."
