Yates close to striker signing

Mark Yates is confident Cheltenham will have the necessary firepower this season as he steps up his search for a new striker. Yates watched his side battle out a goalless pre-season draw with Bristol Rovers on Wednesday night but was pleased with what he saw as he looks to make a breakthrough in his bid to bolster the club`s frontline. "It`s all about me learning about my players and we put in a really purposeful performance," he said. "We wanted to play with no fear and express ourselves and that is what we got. "We`ve got to turn chances into goals and we know that, but the boys have been working their socks off and now we can start to sharpen up. We`ll play different systems sometimes because we have players that can adapt and I`m really pleased. "We`ll score goals and I have no concern about that at all. You know I`m trying to bring in a striker and that will happen but we`ve got to keep believing and keep going with the positive performances." Meanwhile, Speedy Skips have been announced as the new sponsors of the Prestbury Road end at Whaddon Road, which will now be known as 'The Speedy Skips Stand'.
