Yates braced for Thomas exit

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates looks set to lose top-goalscorer Wesley Thomas at the end of the season. The 24-year-old, who signed from Dagenham last summer for a nominal fee, has hit 19 goals for the struggling Robins this season but last week hinted he is ready to move closer to his London home. Yates told the Cheltenham Echo: "I am a realist and I saw Wes' article last week and did it sound like he was staying? "I am not stupid and while we are doing all we can to keep him, I have got a knack of nicking a goalscorer. Something will crop up and we'll cope with it. "If he is tempted elsewhere, we will wish him all the best. "He has 19 goals in a team that has struggled since Christmas and if he doesn't sign, we'll get someone else who can score goals and we might have to change the way we play."
