Schofield arrived at the Abbey Business Stadium in March having parted ways with Walsall back in January where he held a similar position for the majority of his time in the West Midlands. And Schofield, along with Weston, who has penned a similar contract, will now continue to work alongside manager Martin Allen as the club look to bounce back from their relegation to League Two. Allen told Cheltenham's official website: "I'm delighted that we've sorted out these two new contracts. Ian Weston has done a terrific job since I've been here and John Schofield is also a first-class coach who came highly recommended and has been an absolute breath of fresh air at the training ground." Elsewhere, Allen has also revealed his interest in signing midfielder Craig Disley, who was recently released by Bristol Rovers, and spoke of his hopes to secure defender Shane Duff on a new contract having offered him terms. "We have spoken to Craig but also to other players as well, we are in the race for these players but there are also other clubs interested in them," added Allen.
