Smilke: The goals will come

Cheltenham striker Brian Smikle is confident he will soon put an end to his recent goal drought. The 25-year-old, who joined the Robins from non-league Kidderminster in the summer, has not found the net in 13 matches, meaning he has scored just three goals in 33 appearances this season. Smilke's recent goalless streak continued in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Morecambe, where he squandered two one-on-one opportunities and missed the target with a late header. Smikle told the Gloucester Citizen: "I was disappointed in myself that I haven't scored one of the three clear-cut chances I had (against Morecambe). "I could even have scored a hat-trick which the boys are saying I should have had, so I have been getting some good-natured stick. "I normally take those chances, but I know if I keep getting into those positions the goals will come."
