Schofield pleased with Town response

Schofield was put in charge last Tuesday after his boss Martin Allen was sent home on gardening leave and he certainly got a positive reaction from the team against an in-form Vale side, who extended their unbeaten run to six games. The Robins though, were largely outplayed throughout and they fell behind to a Marc Richards strike just before they interval. However, they weathered the onslaught and Michael Pook levelled with a superb 25-yard effort after 66 minutes. Schofield said: "I've looked at the match stats and we've had 13 shots at goal and 11 corners away from home against a team who have been flying. We had spoken about things to do during the game and one of them was to stay patient and positive if we did go behind. "The players certainly did that and we've had some very good chances towards the end when we could have gone on and won. "There are a lot of positives to take out of it, but there is always room for improvement and there are a lot of things for us to work on. I'm quite a calm person and believe it's important not to get too excited when you are winning games, and not to get too despondent when you are losing."
