Jack Lester's ninth goal of the season was enough to end Chesterfield's run of three defeats and the Robins have now won only once in 14 games.[LNB]But Schofield, who will be applying for the job on a full-time basis ahead of this Friday's deadline, believes his players are improving.[LNB]"I thought there were a lot of positives to come out of the game. We played well against a team that I think have got a very good chance of getting promotion and at the end they had changed their formation to play just one up front," said Schofield. "I thought we were excellent in the second half and I think the players have laid a marker down. Now we have to go forward from here.[LNB]"The players showed a great spirit and they never stopped working. To a man they gave their all and sometimes you can't ask for any more. I thought they were fantastic[LNB]"We said on the way here it would be a test, and although we've been beaten 1-0, as regards to that test, we have come through it. We have to remember that we've got a young side and they are learning at the coal face, they are learning on the way up."[LNB][LNB]
