Schofield heaps praise on Allen

Schofield on Wednesday signed a two-year deal as Allen's right-hand man having initially been brought to the club on an expenses-only basis back in March, and he speaks highly of his Robins boss who has come in for his fair share of criticism at times since his arrival at the helm. The 43-year-old, who holds a UEFA 'A' licence, told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "I was certainly one of those people who had a perception of the manager which was way off the mark. "Once you've worked with him, he's fantastic to work with and very knowledgeable. My job through the week is to implement his game plan and strategies. "It's a pleasure to come to work everyday, it's a great environment. That's all set by the manager and I love his ideas and forward thinking and that was a big draw." Meanwhile, Allen has confirmed he is looking to bring a small number of players of high quality to the club this summer instead of several signings of an average ability. Craig Disley and Barry Hayles are just two names that have been mentioned of late among a number of players.
