Russell set for Grecians move
The 36-year-old made seven appearances during a loan spell with the Grecians last season and is now poised to move to St James Park on a one-year deal.
"I haven't officially signed but the clubs are in agreement and I'll be coming down to sign soon," he told the Express & Echo.
"The final contract will only take about 20 seconds to sign so I don't exactly know when it will be I sign, but some time over the summer.
"As far as I'm concerned it's the right decision for me because the club's on the up and you always want to be part of a club which is striving for better things.
"It's a one-year deal so Exeter will more or less be taking on my contract from Cheltenham and the clubs have agreed that.
"Everyone at the club was fantastic at the end of the season from the players to the fans so I know it is the right move."
