Robins sweat over cash verdict

Councillors entered a full meeting at around 2.30pm on Monday afternoon to discuss the club's application for much-needed finance, but it is unknown when a decision will be announced. A vote is due to take place to determine whether the council's chief executive, Andrew North, has received the right to issue the funds. Problems started to arise for Cheltenham, who are currently bottom of League One and staring relegation in the face, when a series of postponed fixtures earlier in the year resulted in a lack of incoming funds, while outgoings remained at an unmanageable level. The club have already made massive inroads into cutting their wage bill by offloading five senior players, while a number of other members of staff have also been made redundant and various other measures taken.
