Robins ready for new ground talks

The idea, which involves the football club moving to a new stadium on part of the racecourse site, was first revealed over a year ago but no detailed talks have ever taken place. Robins chairman Paul Baker is keen to stress that next week's discussions will be very preliminary and that the idea of renovating the Abbey Business Stadium, the club's home since 1931, is still very much a possibility. "We will go into the meeting with an open mind and as I mentioned in my recent programme notes, we are currently reviewing all areas of our operations including the possibility of either relocating the ground or redevelopment," he told the club's official website. "We look forward to the meeting and we are hopeful it may address some of the questions we have, particularly with regard to the financial aspects of a ground move. "At the same time, we are keen to explore other opportunities such as redeveloping the Stagecoach West Stand and all options are under continual review."
