Robins put whole squad up for sale
The Robins are currently bottom of League One and in serious financial turmoil and this week lost midfielder Alex Russell to Exeter and Lloyd Owusu on loan to Brighton.
Allen told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Last week everybody was told that they're available and can find themselves clubs.
"There are certain players we don't want to lose but that is not all in my hands unfortunately.
"I've said all along the most important thing is to keep this club going financially.
"The chairman Paul Baker has done a marvellous job at the end of last week to get this club out of big trouble. I have to respect the chairman and the board's situation and protect the future of this football club."
