Robins downed by Harrad strike

A solo strike from Shaun Harrad handed Burton all three points in a 1-0 victory over Cheltenham. There were just seven minutes on the clock when Harrad struck, turning and rifling home from 25 yards, and to add insult to injury for the home side, defender Danny Andrew was sent off in the closing stages. Four minutes later Cleveland Taylor swapped passes with Harrad, only to see his shot turned around the upright by Robins goalkeeper Scott Brown. The home side struggled in front of goal before the break, Joss Labadie going closest with an effort that rolled into the arms of Burton goalkeeper Artur Krysiak. The second half saw the visitors continue to dominate, with Steve Kabba and Harrad having efforts blocked before Russell Penn saw his shot saved. Aaron Webster sent a header inches wide, while a minute from time Cheltenham's veteran striker Barry Hayles stabbed his shot wide of the upright with just the keeper to beat. Injury time saw Andrew pick up his second yellow card to make it a frustrating night for Robins boss Mark Yates.
