Allen said: "I'm hurt but I've seen players grow and come out of the shadows so I'm very proud of them. We are going to have a good little side. I'm confident, excited and just wished the season wasn't ending.
"The team played very, very well, particularly in the first half when we dominated but found ourselves 1-0 down from their only shot of the half.
"Full credit to the players and the way they came out in the second half as we knew we had to get a win.
"We had an enthusiastic, energetic support from start to finish and it was a great atmosphere. Any neutral wouldn't believe the club was near the bottom of the relegation zone."
