Robins boss eager to keep Alsop
The 36-year-old has been a success at Whaddon Road this season after many doubted whether his signing back in the summer was a wise piece of business.[LNB]He has been signing month-by-month deals ever since he first arrived for his second spell at the club, but his 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances highligh his worth to the League Two outfit.[LNB]Alsop's two goals so far this season have taken his Cheltenham tally to 37 - just one behind Martin Devaney in the club's list of all-time Football League goalscorers. And while his latest contract runs until mid-February, Yates has hinted there may be a longer deal in the reckoning.[LNB]"Since I've been back here Jules has been fantastic," he told the club's official website. "He's a leader in the dressing room and a big part of the squad.[LNB]"I'm delighted that he's signed another extension and I would like to keep him until the end of the season. He's a big handful for defenders but he also cares a lot about the club and that is the type of person we want here."[LNB][LNB]
