Richards relieved to bag brace

The 28-year-old got off the mark for the club during the weekend's nine goal thriller at home to Bradford, netting twice as Town lost 5-4. Richards has previously played league football for West Brom, Bristol Rovers, Peterborough and Colchester but had netted just one league goal in a career that saw him flourish in the fifth tier. And although he admits it was a relief to open his account for the season, he is adamant he never lost faith, and told the Gloucestershire Echo: "In the previous couple of games I missed a few good chances and it was getting frustrating, but you have to keep going and keep working hard and breaks come for you. "In each game, if you are missing chances you are there to score and I just have to keep getting in the right place at the right time."
