Owusu has heart set on Seagulls

Owusu played a key role in the Seagulls' survival with six goals in six games and will learn next week if Albion boss Russell Slade will offer him a contract. He has been voted Powerade League One player of the month for April and says he wants to follow in the footsteps of Teddy Sheringham and play on past his 40th birthday. Owusu, 32, told Brighton's official website: "If there is a contract available, I would love to stay with Brighton. "I want to play on until I am 40. I didn't become a pro until I was 21 and I see people like Paul Furlong, who has just got a one-year contract at 40, as an inspiration. "There's plenty of petrol left in the tank and if I can look after myself as I have been, then I can do it."
