The striker, still only 17, has battled back from a persistent pelvis problem and is looking to build on his first-team appearances at the end of last term. He told the Gloucestershire Echo: "The first few days of pre-season training have gone well and I feel fully fit, so things are looking up at the moment. "This is the best club to be at for youth boys because a lot of us have been pushed up in to the first team, so we have got to do our best and see if we can make it." Lewis also revealed the fitness challenges players have been set by boss Martin Allen, adding: "The gaffer set all the youth lads press-ups, sit-ups and step-ups to do over the summer. "We had sessions at the end of last season and he said to keep doing them when we were off. The fitness levels have definitely gone up and everyone looks fresh."
