Crawley back on top

Tyrone Barnett and Sanchez Watt scored twice as Crawley leapt to the top of League Two at the expense of their promotion rivals following a 4-2 win over Cheltenham.

The game was given the go-ahead after a 6.45pm pitch inspection and Cheltenham stunned the hosts when defender Luke Garbutt blasted them ahead after only six minutes with a 25-yard drive into the bottom corner.

Crawley hit back to equalise when Watt, on loan from Arsenal, rifled his first goal for the club after 12 minutes from 30 yards to the left of keeper Scott Brown.

Barnett gave Crawley the lead in spectacular style three minutes later with a magnificent 30-yard strike, which curled into the top corner. He was on target again five minutes before the interval by firing an unstoppable shot home from a pass by skipper Pablo Mills.

Watt struck the crossbar shortly after the break before extending his side's lead by sweeping in a loose ball after a shot on the turn by Barnett had hit skipper Alan Bennett.

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates and Crawley counterpart Steve Evans were sent to the stands midway through the second half for repeatedly arguing in the same incident.

Substitute Darryl Duffy came off the bench to pull a late goal back for Cheltenham, steering the ball past keeper Scott Shearer.
