Cotterill ruled out of Robins running

Chairman Paul Baker has admitted that an approach had been made for Cotterill but that he had asked not to be considered at the club he managed between 1997 and 2002.[LNB]Baker said: "We are naturally disappointed that Steve has declined our approach but we wish him every success in his future career in football."[LNB]Cotterill said: "I've been lucky because during the time I have been out of work there have been quite a few job offers but it's about a career, not just taking a job.[LNB]"The times I had at Cheltenham were nothing short of remarkable and I count myself very lucky to have been involved in the rise from the southern league to League One."[LNB]Cheltenham have been managerless since Martin Allen left by mutual consent last week and the deadline for applications for the role is Friday December 18.[LNB][LNB]
