Mohamed set for Robins return

Cheltenham striker Kaid Mohamed could return from his ankle injury in time to face Wycombe when they travel to Whaddon Road on Boxing Day.

The Welsh forward missed his side's last two games after picking up a kick and a number of knocks to his ankle but is expected to return to action against the Chairboys.

Russell Penn is expected to keep his place in the Robins' midfield after he played for the full 90 minutes without incident in the 4-1 defeat to Rochdale on Friday.

Manager Mark Yates had been keeping an eye on Penn after he had to use painkillers to get through the clash with Port Vale following a heavy challenge in the derby with Hereford.

Wycombe captain Gary Doherty will be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing a back operation, meaning he will join the Chairboys' three suspended players in the stands for the trip to Cheltenham.

The former Ireland international went under the knife last Tuesday to alleviate a problem with a disc in his lower back and he will miss out along with banned trio Matthew McClure, Matthew Spring and Joel Grant.

Dave Winfield and Dean Morgan (both hamstring) were rated as doubtful for Saturday's game against Bradford before it was postponed as a result of the weather, but could shake off their injuries in time to face the Robins.

Morgan's possible absence, along with McClure and Grant means player/manager Gareth Ainsworth could be short of attacking options for the game.

Anthony Stewart has returned to full training following a thigh injury.
