Gillespie set to face Pilgrims

Cheltenham's returning hero Steven Gillespie could go straight into their starting line-up against Plymouth due to the Robins' lack of forwards.

With Jamie Cureton sidelined due to a dislocated shoulder and Terry Gornell ruled out with a groin injury he suffered in the second half of Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Chesterfield, the loan signing from Fleetwood, who spent two years with the club between 2006 and 2008, could be handed a starting berth.

With the exception of Cureton and Gornell manager Mark Yates has no other injury worries.

Summer signing Ashley Vincent played for 90 minutes in a midweek friendly and is pushing for his first start since returning to the club.

Plymouth will be boosted by the availability of defender Guy Branston.

The former Rotherham and Torquay centre-back came through a midweek friendly loss at Yeovil unscathed after recovering from a calf injury and he boosts Argyle's defensive options with Paul Wotton sidelined due to broken ribs.

And with Maxime Blanchard unavailable after a bereavement in his family Branston looks set to return to the matchday squad.

Andres Gurrieri played for 90 minutes in midweek and is pushing for a start and while manager John Sheridan is looking to add a striker to his squad he says that will not happen before his goal-shy side clash with the Robins.
