Benson blow for Yates

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates will be without on-loan striker Paul Benson for Saturday's clash with league leaders Gillingham.

Benson, 33, was stretchered off during the 2-0 defeat to Plymouth after sustaining an ankle injury and scan results have since revealed he will miss the next couple of weeks.

Shaun Harrad came on in place of Benson on Saturday and he will battle it out with Darryl Duffy in a bid to partner Byron Harrison up front.

Otherwise, Yates has no new injury or suspension concerns as he looks to bounce back from Saturday's defeat with a positive result against the Gills.

Defender Harry Hooman remains unavailable with the foot injury he picked up at the beginning of the campaign.

Gillingham will be without Anton Robinson and Myles Weston as they aim to clinch the npower League Two title.

On-loan midfielder Robinson has been forced to return to parent club Huddersfield after it was confirmed he had suffered cruciate ligament damage, which requires surgery and a rehabilitation period of six to nine months.

Forward Weston, meanwhile, is struggling with a knock but hopes to return to the fold in time for next weekend's home clash against AFC Wimbledon.

Gillingham made sure of automatic promotion with last Saturday's 1-0 victory over Torquay and, as manager Martin Allen prepares to return to his former employers, the Kent club know the title could now be sealed at Whaddon Road.

Victory over fifth-placed Cheltenham will be enough to clinch top spot in League Two while it will also be enough if the Gills match Port Vale's result at Rochdale.
