Another debut for Cureton

Veteran striker Jamie Cureton could make his Cheltenham debut when Burton visit Whaddon Road.

The 37-year-old journeyman joined the Robins from Exeter earlier in the summer.

New arrivals Troy Brown, Ryan Inniss and Craig Braham-Barrett are available for selection at the back, while midfielders Matt Richards and Ashley Vincent could be named in manager Mark Yates' matchday squad.

Former Rochdale forward Terry Gornell could also make his first competitive start for the club.

Burton will be without centre-half Zander Diamond.

Diamond could miss the opening month of the season after damaging a ligament in his foot during training so either Marcus Holness or summer signing Phil Edwards will partner Ian Sharps, who made his move to the Pirelli Stadium permanent over the summer, at the heart of the defence.

Striker Billy Kee could be fit for the big kick-off after battling a sore thigh in pre-season. He took part in a full training session on Wednesday and the club's medical staff are waiting to see if he suffers any reaction.

Veteran midfielder Rory Delap heads a list of nine new signings hoping to make their debuts for the Brewers. Manager Gary Rowett is hoping to sign a goalkeeper from a Barclays Premier League club in time for the game.
