D'Ath injury hampers Robins

Cheltenham will be without on-loan Reading midfielder Lawson D'Ath for their home clash with Burton after he returned to his parent club for a scan on a knee injury.

The Robins expect that the verdict will not be a serious one and the youngster is Mark Yates' only absentee as his side look to cement their position in the third automatic promotion spot in npower League Two.

Darren Carter returned to action after injury in Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Gillingham and Yates has no worries about handing a start to the former Birmingham man for the second time in a week.

The rest of the side that drew with former manager Martin Allen's Gills came through the match unscathed and Yates is expected to name a very similar line-up against a Burton team that won at Plymouth on Wednesday night.

Burton are set to hand a start to Chris Palmer.

The midfielder returned from an ankle injury that had kept him sidelined for two months to play the last half hour of the Brewers' 2-1 victory over Plymouth in midweek.

Boss Gary Rowett praised Palmer for his impact and is expected to name the 29-year-old in his starting line-up.

But Rowett faces a selection headache at left-back. Summer signing Damien McCrory sits out a one-match ban after picking up five yellow cards this season, while Aaron Webster has not recovered from a hamstring strain.

Right-back Anthony O'Connor has played on the left for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and could be asked to perform the role against the third-placed Robins.
