Taylor set for Cheltenham debut

Cheltenham's new loan signing Jake Taylor will go straight into the squad to face Barnet after joining the Robins from Reading.

The Wales Under-21 international, who can play in a number of positions, has featured at this level as recently as last season when he spent a spell on loan at Aldershot.

Fellow Reading loanee Lawson D'Ath, whose stay at Whaddon Road was extended on Thursday, is still recovering from a knee injury and will return for the FA Cup tie with Hereford.

Defender Sido Jombati remains on the sidelines after his hernia operation and he is looking at the npower League Two trip to Northampton next month for a return.

Cheltenham remain in third place in the league despite two heavy defeats in the last week, the latest a 4-1 loss at Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

Barnet will be able to call upon the services of player/coach Edgar Davids.

The 39-year-old former Holland international is available after serving his one-match suspension in midweek following his red card for a second bookable offence in the home draw with Accrington.

Davids could be joined in the squad by ex-Everton midfielder John Oster, who has recovered from an ankle problem to come into contention.

However, Collins John misses out again. The former Fulham striker has been absent in recent weeks due to a thigh strain and manager Mark Robson admits there is no time scale on his return.

Ricky Holmes has shown no adverse reaction to his groin injury after featuring against Stanley and Oxford and should retain his starting place.
