Cheltenham undone on road

A sparkling attacking display by Chesterfield sentenced Cheltenham to another blank away day as John Sheridan's men ran out 3-0 winners. A brilliant opener from Drew Talbot and a second-half double from Craig Davies gave Chesterfield their fourth home win and equalled the club's best start to a season. Talbot stunned the visitors with a superb goal in the 14th minute when he cut in from the right and smashed a left-foot shot into the top corner from 25 years. But Cheltenham responded well and Wesley Thomas had a shot saved before Dean Morgan hit a Cheltenham post in the 33rd minute. Thomas wasted a good chance to level but Talbot was unlucky in the 39th minute when he rattled the bar from 20 yards. But Chesterfield got a second three minutes after the interval when Talbot's cross broke to Davies who volleyed in from eight yards. JJ Melligan had a shot saved by Tommy Lee but Davies sealed the points in the 66th minute with an unstoppable shot from 25 yards.
