27 March 2011 21:54
Cody double stuns Robins Cody McDonald scored twice in the last four minutes as Gillingham came from behind to beat Cheltenham 2-1. Cheltenham took the lead after just three minutes when defender Steve Elliott tucked in Danny Andrew's cross for his first goal for the club. They held onto that advantage for 83 minutes until McDonald headed Barry Fuller's cross onto the bar and nodded the rebound into an empty net. And with less than a minute remaining the striker took his tally for the season to 22 when he headed home Adebayo Akinfenwa's right-wing cross. The Gills climbed up to sixth in the table and lie just two points outside the automatic promotion places.
