Bradford 0-1 Cheltenham: Report

Robins rock Bantams

Cheltenham moved into the automatic promotion places in League Two with a deserved 1-0 win at struggling Bradford.

The only goal of the game came in the eighth minute when Kaid Mohamed beat Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke with a low shot from 15 yards after collecting a pass from fellow striker James Spencer.

Spencer ought to have added a second goal on the half-hour but he failed to connect with a cross from Darryl Duffy before firing wide when the ball was returned into the goalmouth.

Duffy twice tested Duke early in the second half before Cheltenham almost scored what would have been a remarkable second goal in the 53rd minute. Marlon Pack spotted Duke off his line after Cheltenham were awarded a free-kick 15 yards inside their own half, but fortunately for the home side the goalkeeper managed to get back in time to stop Pack's long-range shot.

Bradford struggled to create chances against a strong visiting defence and one of their few shots on target came in the 70th minute when substitute striker Ross Hannah tested keeper Jack Butland at the near post.

However, Cheltenham always looked the more dangerous side as Bradford slid to their fourth home defeat of the season.
