Baker: Robins moving in right direction

Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker insists the club are moving in the right direction after the latest accounts revealed a loss of £227,785. The figures, which cover the period from May 2009 to May 2010, highlight a marked upturn from the previous financial year, when the Robins reported a loss of over £800,000. Baker told the club's official website: "While the result is clearly not impressive it does represent a significant improvement on the previous year and covers what was a very difficult season in which the club just managed to hang onto its hugely important Football League status." He also praised the work of Town boss Mark Yates, who has guided his side into 10th place despite cuts to his playing budget. "Mark has managed to put together a talented squad of players which is more than holding its own in the top half of League Two," Baker added.
