Allen delighted with Saints draw
A Robins squad which included trialists and youngsters put in a dogged display to trouble the recently-relegated League One outfit on more than one occasion, while chances were few and far between for managerless Saints.
Allen told the club's official website: "It was an excellent workout and a lot of positives came from the game.
"The players looked a lot fitter than they did when we played Bishop's Cleeve, we didn't pick up any injuries which is vital for us, we kept a clean sheet and I don't think our goalkeeper had a shot to save.
"Some of the lads who came in on trial did very well and we gave some other members of our squad some time on the pitch."
Allen added: "We're looking to sign another player before the weekend. We're short of a left-footed player and we're working on that. I think I've come to an agreement with a Championship club and hopefully that will be sorted out in the next few days."
