Cheltenham twice led through goals from Ashley Vincent and Lloyd Owusu only to concede twice in the last six minutes as a goal from Darryl Duffy and Rickie Lambert's brace ensured they surrendered the points.

"I'm proud of my players because they gave everything on the night," said Allen. "Things just aren't going our way at the moment. We will turn things around and stay up.

"There is so much spirit in the squad and we have key players returning to full fitness. They gave everything for the cause, of course there are things we have to work on and I will be studying the DVD carefully, but I am certainly not in a mood to have a go at them.

"At times like this the manager has to stay strong and support his players.

"I have every confidence in my lads and will lift them before we play MK Dons on Saturday."
