Allen compares Alsop to a steak

The visitors took the lead through Paul Benson's first-half drive, but Cheltenham levelled with just nine minutes remaining through a Michael Townsend header following some good work from Alsop, who was signed from non-league neighbours Bishops Cleeve during the close season. Allen said: "People thought I was mad to take him on as a professional at the start of the season, but look at the energy and enthusiasm he brought, those people should have been here to see him. "We went shopping for a big strong centre forward at the start of the season, but couldn't afford the players we wanted. "If you go shopping at Sainsbury's and ask for a fillet steak but can't afford it, you have to find something else and we've ended up with a gristly old fatty lump of lard up front - but it tasted good."
