Dons give Robins what four
Jack Midson showed Cheltenham what they are missing following their failed attempt to land his services over the summer as he helped AFC Wimbledon to a thumping 4-1 victory.
Midson, who swapped Oxford for the Dons in June despite interest from Town, bagged the third goal of a routine afternoon for the home side after 66 minutes
Ricky Wellard`s header and an own goal from Steve Elliott had put Wimbledon two up while Rashid Yussuff added a fourth, Darryl Duffy pulling one back for Cheltenham.
Terry Brown`s side opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Sammy Hatton's cross from the right was headed in by Wellard.
Cheltenham wasted a glaring opportunity to equalise after 35 minutes when Josh Low set up Jimmy Spencer in space in the penalty area, but the young striker made a mess of his shot.
Things worsened for Cheltenham five minutes before half-time when Lee Minshull's cross was turned into his own net by a lunging Elliott.
Midson put the result beyond doubt with the third, finishing well after good play from substitute Yussuff, who struck the fourth in the 85th minute.
Duffy headed in a consolation for Cheltenham from Danny Andrew's cross in the final minute.
