Yuri Zhirkov has again revealed that a switch to Barcelona this summer would be his preferred option. The CSKA Moscow midfielder appears destined to be on the move in the coming weeks, with a host of clubs tracking his availability. Premier League giants Chelsea are known to have a strong interest, while Barcelona are also reported to be keen. Of the two Zhirkov admits he would rather head to Catalunya, as he has been a staunch follower of Barca's exploits over the years. "The Spanish league is followed closely in Russia and I've seen many games, above all those of Barca, who have been my team for many years," the Russia international told Sport. "Last season I saw tons of games and they were in fantastic form. I've always liked their style of play and the concept of football they have." Barcelona have already confirmed that they will soon be entering the market in search of new recruits, with reports suggesting Zhirkov is regarded as an ideal candidate to complement Eric Abidal down their left flank. Offer"I would love to be this player," added Zhirkov. "In football anything is possible, but first Barca will have to make an offer and then it has to be accepted by CSKA, who are in charge of my future." While Zhirkov has been the subject of much speculation of late, and a move appears inevitable, the 25-year-old admits he is yet to receive an approach from any club. "My club have never spoken with any team about me," he said. "These stories continually appear on the internet and in the media, but I prefer not to give any time to rumours. "Until this time, CSKA have not received any offer and officially they have not started negotiations with any club."
