David Moyes will rival Chelsea in the battle to sign 17-year-old Luke Shaw this summer. The Southampton left back is on Moyes' shortlist as the new Manchester United manager attempts to put his own stamp on the squad left by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Shaw was scouted last season by Moyes, then Everton boss, who had earmarked him to provide competition for Leighton Baines. If Shaw signs a professional deal with Southampton, then Moyes will likely turn to 19-year-old Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, has vowed to fight off inevitable interest in Luis Suarez this summer, despite admitting that every player has his price after agreeing a £15m fee to sell Andy Carroll to West Ham.

Suarez ended last season in disgrace, having been banned for 10 matches for biting Chelsea defender Brainslav Ivanovic. He till has six games to serve, and given the controversy that engulfed him, clubs will be looking to exploit any vulnerability. Juventus retain an interest, so do Atletico Madrid, Bayern have been big admirers of him for a very long time. The club, have reluctantly agreed to sell Carroll but Rodgers does not believe the target man has a future at Anfield.

He struggled to make an impact after he was signed when Liverpool wanted a replacement for Fernando Torres. Brendan Rodgers is hoping to start his crucial summer of spending with a bang by snapping up a long-term replacement for Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool manager Rodgers has targeted highly-rated Greece international Kyriakos Papadopoulos, and will table a firm £13.5million offer for the Schalke centre-half.

Real Madrid are ready to blow Tottenham out of the water in a bid to sign Gareth Bale this summer. They will offer him mega-wages and let him keep his image rights although they are only prepared to pay a transfer fee of £43m.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are considering a move for Chelsea defender David Luiz. The Brazilian could become an early casualty of incoming boss Jose Mourinho who has concerns about the 26-year-old's defensive abilities. Barcelona are struggling to find a centre-back that fits their budget and will be looking to strike a deal for around £25m.

Arsenal have been told primary transfer target Stevan Jovetic will cost £25million but the Gunners are not willing to pay more than £20m for the 23-year-old who has been on the club's radar since 2011.

Phil Neville is keen on replacing David Moyes as Everton boss and has held talks with Bill Kenwright over the issue.

And finally, Roberto Martinez has been given 48 hours to decide whether he wants to replace Tony Pulis as Stoke manager.
