Wilkins reveals Blues are set to appeal against UEFA ref punishment

Ray Wilkins believes Chelsea will appeal against UEFA's decision to fine the club along with Dider Drogba and Jose Bosingwa. Drogba received a four-match ban with two games suspended and Bosingwa was hit with a three-match ban with one game suspended while the club were fined £85,000 by European football's governing body for the disgraceful scenes following Chelsea's Champions League semi-final second leg at home to Barcelona. Chelsea players, led by Drogba, angrily remonstrated with Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo at the final whistle after being denied what they felt were four clear-cut penalties. But Wilkins defended thre actions of the players and suggested the club would appeal against the decision. 'It (the reaction) might have been excessive,' admitted Wilkins. 'But it was emotions boiling over in a heated situation. The club will digest the decision. I would imagine we'll appeal but we'll see.'
