Why Napoli's Marek Hamsik may be a Chelsea transfer ban buster

26 October 2009 02:30
FIFA's transfer ban on Chelsea has not stopped the London club from scouting for potential signings.

Napoli's 22-year-old Slovakia midfielder Marek Hamsik is the latest player to be linked with the club.

The Blues are hoping to win a freeze on the ban they incurred for inducing French teenager Gael Kakuta to breach his contract with RC Lens.

Chelsea have taken their appeal to the Court of Arbitration forSport (CAS) in Lausanne and, citing a precedent set by Swiss club Sion, they have requested the ban be suspended until CAS have reached theirverdict, probably after January.
