Werder waiting on Pizarro

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs does not expect a quick conclusion to the transfer saga surrounding Claudio Pizarro. The Chelsea striker spent the 2008/09 season on loan at the Weserstadion after failing to make an impact in England following his arrival two years ago. Pizarro impressed in Germany, scoring 17 Bundesliga goals and helping Werder to the Uefa Cup final, and the Peruvian has previously stated he has not been contacted by his parent club regarding a return to Stamford Bridge. Werder are keen to secure the 30-year-old, who previously played for the club between 1999 and 2001, on a permanent deal but they do not expect a decision from Chelsea any time soon. Allofs told Kicker: "We need patience. This will be an affair which takes a lot of time this summer."
