Watford v Chelsea preview

Guus Hiddink will be watching from the stands as Chelsea visit Watford in the FA Cup fifth round.[LNB] It has been a turbulent week for the Blues after the shock sacking of Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday before the appointment of Russia coach Hiddink until the end of the season.[LNB]And the 62-year-old Dutchman's first game as interim manager will be from afar as assistant boss Ray Wilkins takes charge of team affairs for the fifth round encounter at Vicarage Road.[LNB]Wilkins is familiar with Saturday's opponents having enjoyed a spell as Gianluca Vialli's Watford assistant in 2001.[LNB]However, there are Chelsea connections at Watford too with manager Brendan Rogers employed as reserve coach at Stamford Bridge until taking up the Hornets job in November.[LNB]Another twist to Saturday's game sees Rogers assisted by coaching consultant Frank Lampard Senior, who will pit his wits against his son and England midfielder. [LNB]BannedChelsea are without suspended captain John Terry for their trip to Vicarage Road.[LNB]Centre-half Ricardo Carvalho (hamstring) is still out, while Michael Essien,[LNB]although back in training, is not expected to return until the end of March.[LNB]England midfielder Joe Cole is out for the season with knee ligament damage but goalkeeper Petr Cech should have recovered from the back injury which kept him out of the goalless draw with Hull City last weekend.[LNB]Deadline day signing Ricardo Quaresma could make his second start for the Blues, but the Portuguese winger will be vying with African young player of the year Salomon Kalou and Frenchman Florent Malouda.[LNB]Wilkins may look to do something Scolari was reluctant to and partner Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba up front, after the latter scored in midweek for the Ivory Coast on international duty.[LNB]Watford midfielder Jack Cork will miss out on the glamour FA Cup clash, while boss Rogers has could decide to play new signing Don Cowie.[LNB]Cork is on loan at the Hornets from Chelsea and is ineligible to face his parent club so Lee Williamson should return in his place.[LNB]However, Cowie is pushing for a starting role after he signed on transfer deadline day from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.[LNB]Fellow new signing Aleksandrs Cauna is a week away from match fitness and will not be considered[LNB]
