I'm so happy and delighted Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was delighted with the result of his side’s penalty shoot-out win against Fulham in the Carling Cup at Stamford Bridge last night. The Portugal boss said: “I’m very happy, it was a superhuman effort – even more gratifying as Fulham play good football. “Fulham played their part – they were extraordinary, they did not lump it forward, they played in and around us. “It’s out of this world this win – the effort and concentration was excellent. “It was a difficult but gratifying game.” Asked if the decive missed penalty crossed the lien, Villa-Boas said: “I don’t know if the bally crossed the line. “In one stroke we break the bad omens of losing in penalty shoot outs and not losing in Carling Cup with 10 men. “As foer their penalty, it was clear - Alex had to go, to follow the rules. “I took Cech off at half time as he felt dizzy with a head injury – I did not want to risk him – Daniel Sturridge had ligament problems. “We did not train for this situation – playing with 10 men, we knew we would have to play with  two banks of four with one man up front. “I was pleased not just with the youngsters but also Luiz , Malouda and Romeu – he has great control and will play his part in the Premier League this season. “I had to take Josh off – it was a shame for him”.
