Didier Drogba – Frank Lampard
This partnership isn't typical of a Premier League strike force, consisting of a central midfielder and a forward in the form of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. Between them they scored a net busting 51 goals, becoming only the second duo to break the 50 goal mark in the Premier League and a first to achieve that feat in a 38 game season. Drogba was often the lone striker, whilst Lampard would make runs from deep and get in the box at every opportunity. Drogba went on to win the Golden boot that season, with goals from the pair helping push Chelsea towards lifting the Premier League trophy.
