Transfer-listed Anelka knows next move

Nicolas Anelka insists he already knows where he will be playing in January after Chelsea confirmed the French striker has been put on the transfer list.

Anelka and Blues team-mate Alex have both had transfer requests accepted by the Premier League club and are expected to leave when the transfer window opens in January.

Former Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester City forward Anelka, who joined Chelsea for £15 million in January 2008, has been strongly linked with a move to mega-rich Russian club Anzi Machakala and he has made it clear he has a move lined up.

In a statement on his official website, Anelka said: "I've known for a little while where I'll be on January 2.

"The club, which is going through a difficult time, has decided to work with Chelsea's players of the future and, as I am a good professional, I have accepted this."

Anelka's first-team opportunites have been limited this season due to the emergence of young Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge and he will train with the reserves until leaving in the new year.
