The latest gossip and rumours from the newspapers and online:

Chelsea are the latest club leading the race for SAIDO BERAHINO's signature. The Evening Standard reports that with the Blues struggling for numbers up front, they could turn to the wantaway Baggies striker. Newcastle are also reported to be interested.

Sunderland are not ready to give up on Swansea striker ANDRE AYEW, according to the South Wales Evening Post. The Black Cats were reported to have had a £10million offer turned down for the Ghana international and are ready to go back in with a second bid. Liverpool are also thought to be interested.

There could be an incoming at Swansea, though, as they prepare a bid to bring SCOTT SINCLAIR back to the Liberty Stadium. The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour at Aston Villa and could return to south Wales for as little as £2million say the Mirror.

WILFRIED BONY will not be leaving Manchester City this January his agent has told the Daily Star. The Ivorian has had a frustrating 12 months at City and struggled for regular action, but his representative Francis Kacou says talk of an exit is purely speculation.

The Guardian reports that Newcastle must shell out £14million to bring in Tottenham's ANDROS TOWNSEND. The Magpies had a £10million offer rebuffed last week and must find extra cash if they want to land the England international. Boss Steve McClaren is thought to be considering SCOTT SINCLAIR and MATT PHILLIPS as alternatives.
