Transfer Round Up 7th June - Manchester United and Chelsea target new faces

07 June 2013 09:09

We start with Zenit St. Petersburg’s Hulk. According to reports, Chelsea is preparing a 35million pound bid for the Brazilian international winger. Chelsea has been after Hulk for some time and lost out on him last season. The 26-year-old Hulk has had several issues since moving to Zenit. It seems his current Manager does care for him much and his teammates care even less.

It looks like Carlos Tevez will be moving again. His third party agent needs a new car or home, so Tevez is being shopped to Juventus. Problem here is that Juventus would rather have Florentina’s Stevan Jovetic instead. It is rumored that both Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in Jovetic so if one of them get to Jovetic first, Juventus gets the consolation prize named Carlos Tevez.

We can’t have transfer gossip without hearing about Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo so let’s start with Bale. Though Real Madrid are said to be interested and who are they “not” interested in these days, Bale is staying home and will not be moving. We get this from his former manager Harry Redknapp. Harry stated, “He’s not an over-ambitious lad, he wants to be successful obviously but he’s not someone I can see moving to Real Madrid at this stage in his life.". If Harry is right, we can have all of these discussions about Bale next year….

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has spoken up again, stating on a local radio show, "My opinion is that Cristiano (Ronaldo) will retire at Real Madrid, that is his dream, and the club’s too. Some people think that negotiations are done in the newspapers." If that is CR7’s dream, you may want him to say so the media because it looks like he is dreaming of a return to Manchester.

The Luis Suarez saga has quieted down a bit. It had been rumored that, who else, Real Madrid were in the market for Suarez with a £25 million bid. Suarez is also looking to go somewhere where the media will be a little easier on him than those savage Brits. Liverpool is still denying the bid and has stated several times that Suarez is not for sell.

We finish up with Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke. The Daily Mirror reported yesterday that Villa had slapped a £40 price tag on Benteke. Not sure many teams think that he is worth that kind of money at this point but we shall see. Let’s face it Liverpool coughed up £35 million for Andy Carroll so maybe £40 million isn’t a bad price. Several teams are interested, mostly Arsenal, Tottenham and the before mentioned Liverpool. His price tag may be a little too high but there is a good chance that if he is still around when the transfer window starts to close, someone will panic and grab him.
