Transfer News - Chelsea want Guardiola; Liverpool in for Elmander

29 November 2010 07:18
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is under pressure after a 1-1 draw at Newcastle made it just one win from his side's last five Premier League games.

And according to the Sunday Telegraph, if Ancelotti leaves at the end of the season Chelsea are considering replacing him with Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola's contract ends next year at the Camp Nou, and Chelsea are hoping their sporting director Txixi Bergiristain will convince him to leave for Chelsea.

We're not sure why he'd want Guardiola out, or on what basis the Telegraph have made this suggestion...we're just the messenger.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are making eyes at Bolton's in-form striker Johan Elmander.

The Daily Mirror reports Roy Hodgson is keep on a January swoop for a player he twice tried to sign at Fulham.

Elmander is valued at around £5 million, and, having turned down a recent contract extension offer, could well be thinking of pastures new.
