Chelsea are reportedly planning a raid for Inter Milan defender Nicolas Burdisso, after losing Ricardo Carvalho to Real Madrid.

Argentine international Burdisso spent last season on loan at Roma, but a permanent deal appears to have stalled in negotiations.

The Daily Mail reports Inter technical director Marco Branco has confirmed there is English interest in the 29-year-old, who is confident playing anywhere across the back four.

Also in the Mail is a story linking West Ham and England striker Carlton Cole with a move to Sunderland.

Steve Bruce has reportedly turned his attentions away from World Cup star Asamoah Gyan, preferring to opt for a player with Premier League pedigree.

West Ham are thought to want around £15 million for Cole - who has also been linked to Liverpool.

Finally, it looks like Robinho may find a new home at Fenerbache.

The unsettled Brazilian is set to meet officials from the Turkish club today, in the hope of finalising a move away from Manchester City before the transfer window closes on August 31.
