Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says Aaron Lennon still has much to learn

Lennon, 21, has been in luminous form for Tottenham in recent weeks and pledged his long-term future to the club on Friday by signing a contract extension to keep him at White Hart Lane until 2014. [LNB]Despite Lennon's impressive displays, which led to him being linked with a summer move to Liverpool, Redknapp believes the England winger, who is likely to start at home to Chelsea on Saturday, can still add much to his game. [LNB]Lennon is absorbing the advice imparted by Redknapp to ensure he remains one of the top wingers in the country. Redknapp said: "He is only a kid still and when you get a player like that you look to build a team. You need good players and he is a match-winner. [LNB]"He has still got a lot to learn. He needs to keep listening, keep learning and if he does that he can become an even better player. He has got that pace and skill, but I don't think he has ever been taught how to receive the ball. I think people have marked him by keeping him out of the game. [LNB]"I have spoken to him about getting in behind people and making runs behind, even if the ball doesn't come. It is all those little things he needs to add to his game and I think he is doing that. It comes with practice, but he wants to learn."[LNB]Lennon has been frozen out of the England set-up for the last two years, but with Fabio Capello's side facing a double-header against Slovakia and Ukraine, Redknapp is hoping the Spurs winger has done enough to force his way back into the squad to be announced tomorrow, and that he can be part of the team at the World Cup in 2010. [LNB]Redknapp added: "It depends on his form but if he keeps progressing hopefully he will. They have watched him at Villa, against Middlesbrough and at Wembley when he was fantastic against Manchester United. They have seen him a lot recently."[LNB]Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink is not taking Saturday's visit to Spurs lightly. He said: "I've seen them in the Carling Cup against Manchester United and they had a good contest. They're dangerous. They have speed. It'll be a difficult game. They've come up to a higher level of playing." [LNB]
