Tottenham concede they will sell Modric if Chelsea can tempt them with a big enough offer
Tottenham No 2 Kevin Bond has admitted they could sell Luka Modric if the club's valuation of him is met by west London neighbours Chelsea.[LNB]The Blues are weighing up whether to make a third bid for Spurs playmaker Modric, having already seen two offers rejected this summer.[LNB]Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has insisted the 25-year-old is not for sale 'at any price' but that was contradicted by Bond.[LNB] Wanted man: Modric has been tracked by Chelsea all summer[LNB]He told talkSPORT: 'We desperately don't want to lose him, but everyone has a price. [LNB]'If somebody came along and the money turns your head and he did go - although the chairman is adamant he doesn't want to sell him - then we'd have to get on with it.'[LNB]'But, at the moment, the chairman's insistent he won't let him go and we definitely don't want to lose him anyway.'[LNB]That price is likely to be well in excess of the ?27million posted by Chelsea in their most recent offer.[LNB]Spurs boss Harry Redknapp branded the Blues' first bid as 'ridiculous' and also gave short shrift to the second. 'It's incredible. They are all on ?100,000-a-week-plus. Wages have gone crazy.[LNB]'It's gone beyond belief and made it really hard to compete for top players. If you want to be a top-four side, it's difficult because we can't pay those kind of wages.[LNB]'Our chairman Daniel Levy runs the club well, we get 36,000 fans, you're not going to put the club in hock. How do you compete with the Man Citys of this world?'[LNB]Spurs have been linked with Valencia star Juan Mata.[LNB] Mata of fact: Redknapp is chasing the Valencia midfielder[LNB]Redknapp said: 'Mata is one we have looked at but there are other clubs, including, Arsenal who also like him. I saw him play for Spain Under 21s against England and he was fantastic.
