Torres backs Chelsea attack to click

Fernando Torres is in no doubt Chelsea's dream attack can all fit together and drive the Blues on to a successful end to the season.

The £50million striker's much-hyped first appearance in a Chelsea shirt failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where Torres was eventually replaced after 65 minutes as the Reds went on to win 1-0 through Raul Meireles.

Torres was part of a three-pronged attack with Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, and told Chelsea TV: "When you have good players you have to try and keep the balance, keep working on the system. There are a lot of good players here and a lot of possibilities and chances to play."

He added: "We have to know that there are still a lot of games to come and we have to be ready to play in different positions.

"It doesn't matter because the main thing is the team."

While Torres admits Liverpool caught Chelsea out with the way they closed down any space in the central areas, the Spain striker maintains Ancelotti's men will not dwell on the result.

"It was very difficult, Liverpool played a good game, with three at the back, we were not expecting that and maybe they took advantage of that," Torres added.

"We didn't have enough chances to score, but we had two or three controversial chances at the end when maybe we could have had a penalty.

"I think the fair result was the draw, it was unfair to lose that game, but now we are looking forward to the next game and will keep fighting until the end.

"There are a lot of points still to play (for)."
